Cargo consolidation is an essential part of the international business handled by IFE and provides an important service for all shippers/consignees dealing with smaller orders which do not fill a shipping container (Less than Container Load –LCL).

We are recognised as probably the UKs leading forwarder operating in the competitive markets of India and Pakistan, have weekly consolidation services operating from the main ports in the Far East, South East Asia and the USA.

Cargo is consolidated either on the basis of many shipments for different consignees in a single container, or acting for a single consignee who buys cargo from different shippers and can save costs by combining the different shipments into a single load – buyer consolidation.

Containers destined for the UK are placed under a Customs bond and unpacked at our Customs approved terminals in London, Felixstowe or Southampton to facilitate the submission of documents for Customs clearance.

Linked to the consolidation activities, IFE also operates as a N.V.O.C.C. (Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier), issuing our own bills of lading for the international carriage of cargo. The issue of this bill of lading (OHCL Line) provides both shipper and consignee the convenience of having negotiable documents available quickly, with the full protection afforded by IFE insurers. This arm of the Company operates extensively in the Indian Sub Continent and Middle East.
